The National Memorial Arch at Valley Forge National Historical Park is a stately monument dedicated to General George Washington and the Continental Army. Designed by Paul Philippe Cret, the Arch was inspired by the Arch of Titus in Rome and was erected to commemorate the army’s winter encampment during 1777-78. The Arch, standing 60 feet tall, was dedicated on June 19, 1917, and symbolizes the nation’s appreciation for the sacrifices and triumphs of its early soldiers and their leader.

Lovely spot atop a hill with a view and this beautiful sculpture from the French and so like the French Arc de Triomphe.
No parking or picnic tables right near the Arch sadly.

If you want to take in the whole site, including reading the info kiosks and want to learn all about the Arch, plan a minimum of 1 hour.

A wonderful place for a picnic. Nice grounds and shady trees.

Built by the Masons in 1917 this Arch is magnificent.

The detail of the masonry work is inspiring.

There is plenty of parking on the backside.

There are many historical kiosks/markers that give many details about the Arch referencing the Archs purpose and information about the immediate surrounding area.
