If you're in the Vegas area and looking to get out and do something other than the casino thing, a short hike out to the Liberty Bell Arch is what I would highly recommend. In fact, it's actually 2 hikes in one in that you get to hike to the arch and then, if you go a bit further, you get to a point where you can look down at the Colorado River from an a stunning overlook. The whole hike is just a bit over 5 miles long round trip and can be done in about 2-3 hours but I would allow for more time just so that you can really soak in the views, check out the ruins of an old WWII era magnesium mine and see the Mike O'Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge from a totally different point of view. I should note that the trail isn't exactly difficult but there is a moderate amount of climbing both up and down and in both directions. You definitely want to make sure you're carrying enough water and this is definitely NOT something you want to do during the hotter months. Aside from that, this is one of my favorite hikes in the area and it's always great to pair it up with a visit to the Hoover Dam.

Two rewards from one relatively easy hike. After seeing the Liberty Bell Arch, continue on for another 30 minutes to the overlook on top of Colorado River. It’s well worth it.

This hiking trail starts a bit confusing, it's not very well marked. Once you know the trail then it is a very beautiful hike. No tree, just lot of shrubs and many colors rocks, hills and water run off valleys.
Liberty Bell Arch is unique. If you continue hiking up the path you will end up with a stunning view of the Colorado River and surrounding mountains. The hike is pretty moderate.
The nice thing about this trail is parking lot are spacious!

Totally bummed of our hike today! Because 1, we didn't get to finish the trail until the end. equipment2, we didn't bring hiking poles and 3, I slipped and fell right off the shoulder towards the remnant of the mining - slightly twisted my left ankle because of #2!
This is the 3rd trail within the area so you'll encounter a few hikers too. It's open year-round but check the weather before you go - anything above 80° F or if it's windy, I wouldn't recommend since there's minimal shade on this trail.

Great trail...wonderful desert topography. Easy to moderate hike, depending on fitness level. Easy to navigate. Starts at White Rock Canyon Trail Head.

Go the extra mile and do the Colorado River look out. Moderate level hike. I believe longer than 5 mile round trip as stated... more like 6.5. Lots of switch backs, rocky climb. Enjoyable on a good weather day!

Took this hike this weekend.. and it was beautiful! I'm a bit out of shape so all of those hills took a toll. That didn't stop it from being a gorgeous hike. There was a view on top of every hill. Give yourself a generous portion of the day to really enjoy it, it's worth it.

The trail is not marked well after 0.5mi in, but we made it to the Arch. Keep to the right of two signs on the trail. There's an old wooden cart from a Magnesium mine and that's where folks get off trail. At that mark LOOK because the trail kinda hides here. We did it on May 11, it was 80°F good winds. There is little shade. Take at least 2 liters of water per person.
It was fun moderate hike unless you get off trail. Then you will be scrambling.
